JAMBOREE 2023

Updated: Jul 29, 2023

It was one of those days here in the UK with weather that no one could have predicted. Friday we were melting in the sun. Saturday we were like wet fowls the rain .. but we persevered and I would like to commend the Community Action Trust team and their spouses , the stall holders who I am sure wanted pack up an hour into the afternoon, the entertainers , the amazing volunteers. . Our mission of an "event with a purpose" stood true as we received donations of mobility aids, medication' adult diapers, heart monitor machines. Still sealed 30 plus glucose reading machines, a brand new wheel chair, brand new commodes, jig saw puzzles, a huge box of compression bandages. Many mobility aids were dropped off by Leighton Buzzard residents after I made an appeal on their page. Complete strangers . Wonderful gesture. And right there you know .. this is our WHY.

Thank you to all who supported the event in that awful weather even though it did finally decide to change at 5.00 p.m. We love and appreciate you.
